Join Us as We Explore and Photograph the Incredible World of Iceland

Mitch Stringer and Snorri Gunnarsson will be leading this intensive 8 day photography workshop August 21st – 28th starting in Reykjavik . Our excursion will be dedicated to experiencing and photographing some of the most striking and unexpected wonders of Iceland. We will photograph locations throughout the day: early mornings, midday, evenings and nighttime, all with the intent of trying to capture the ideal light to best showcase Iceland’s natural beauty.

This spectacular adventure is open to participants of all photographic skill levels.

Your hosts: Mitch and Snorri are working professional photographers with extensive experience in leading location specific seminars. The number of participants will be intentionally limited to ensure that all are afforded the utmost opportunities for hands-on guidance and instruction.

We will be exploring the scenic peninsula & north coast of Iceland. The north coast is traveled via a narrow corridor through which we will experience glaciers, towering cliffs and colourful mountains leading to impossibly green fields. From the lush, vibrant fields Iceland changes to dark soil and black sand beaches and jutting headlands as we continue toward the ocean.

In summer there is an incredible contrast between these elements. Shape and form take over, molded and sculpted by the extreme weather and sea conditions that Iceland is famous for.

There is always a multitude of extraordinary subject matter to photograph in Iceland, no matter how many times you visit.

As with all the tours the itinerary is flexible. We will be hunting for the perfect light and location so expect to sleep when you get back home. If there is a chance that we might capture a fantastic image then we will be out following the light.

What level of photographic skills should I have in order to attend one of your workshops?
This spectacular photographic expedition is open to all levels of photographers. This workshop is designed to allow a significant amount of one-on-one instruction to help you improve your photographic understanding and image taking capabilities.  We do request that you are familiar with your camera and with its different functions/menu options etc. Please consider that any photographic cameras are acceptable but you will certainly have the most control and photographic freedom if you come to the workshops with digital SLR’s (dSLR) and a variety of lenses (the greater the selection of lenses, whether primes or zooms, wide angle, telephoto -the more creative choices and options you will have).
